An interior staircase connects both floors. The lower level also has a separate exterior entrance. One owner room and all garage bays remain locked and are not available to guests.
Children and infants are welcome. Please note the interior staircase and take care with young children near the stairs and deck.

Parking & Driveway
The driveway is gravel with ample parking at multiple levels. Guests may park at the upper level to avoid the exterior entry stairs.
AWD or 4WD recommended: Not mandatory, but strongly recommended during winter weather or after heavy rain. Expect winding mountain roads on the final approach.

Heating & Air Conditioning
The upstairs level has electric heat but does not currently have air conditioning. Fans are provided upstairs, and mountain evenings are typically cooler. The downstairs level has a mini-split providing both heat and air conditioning.
The upstairs has a wood-burning fireplace, while the downstairs has a wood-burning stove for additional warmth.
Late July and early August can occasionally bring daytime temperatures into the mid-80s. Opening windows in the evening is usually enough to stay comfortable upstairs.
Wi-Fi
The cabin has T-Mobile 5G home internet with a strong signal — a cell tower is nearby. Network name and password are posted inside the cabin for confirmed guests.

Fireplace & Wood Stove Safety
- • Use only the provided seasoned firewood and fire starters.
- • Never leave a fire unattended. Fully extinguish before bed or leaving the cabin.
- • Keep flammable items away from the fireplace and stove.
- • Use the fireplace screen at all times. Do not overload the firebox.
- • Ensure the damper is open before lighting a fire in the upstairs fireplace.
Grill & Firepit
An outdoor grill and firepit are available on the deck, along with a deck sofa and swing.
- • Never leave the grill or firepit unattended while in use.
- • Fully extinguish the firepit before going inside.
- • Do not store food or scented items outdoors — this is bear country.
Laundry
Private laundry facilities are located downstairs in the lower level. Bring your own detergent or use what's provided.
Trash & Bear Safety
This is bear country. Black bears and other wildlife sometimes wander near the property.
- • Dispose of all trash in the bear-proof bins provided on site.
- • Never leave food, trash, or scented items outdoors.
- • Keep a respectful distance from any wildlife. Do not approach, feed, or interact with animals.
- • Secure food indoors, especially at night and when you leave the cabin.
You are staying in their neighborhood. Enjoy watching wildlife from the deck — from a safe distance.
Emergency Information
- • Emergency: Dial 911.
- • Smoke & CO alarms: Upstairs combination smoke/CO alarm, separate upstairs smoke alarm, and a downstairs smoke alarm are installed. Fire extinguishers are on both floors.
- • No backup generator: The cabin does not have whole-home backup power. Strong cell signal is available due to a nearby tower.
- • Nearest hospital: Highlands-Cashiers Hospital (Highlands, NC).
Local Grocery Stores
The nearest grocery stores are approximately 15 minutes away in Cashiers, including Ingles and local markets. We recommend stocking up on your way in, especially for weekend or holiday stays.
