Travel west on US-64. Turn right onto State Route 1144 (Norton Rd.). Drive about 5.6 miles, then turn left onto Yellow Mountain Road. Cross the small bridge and continue for 2.6 miles. Turn left onto Mill Creek Road by the Baptist Church.
Follow Mill Creek Road for about half a mile. Look for a cluster of mailboxes and a weathered shed/garage. Turn up the rocky driveway with the dead-end sign. Use the gate code sent to you by email. Continue climbing the road until you reach the brown two-story home with a wrap-around porch and three parking levels.
Head east on US-64, then take a left onto State Route 1144 (Norton Rd.) and follow the same route as above.
Buck Creek and Cold Mountain Road can save 5–10 minutes and reduce the number of turns. However, Cold Mountain Road is gravel and becomes more difficult after rain. A 4x4 vehicle is recommended if taking this route.
GPS may try to reroute you onto Zeb Buchanan Road off Yellow Mountain Road. If you reach a gated guardhouse, you’ve been taken the wrong way — turn around and return to Yellow Mountain Road.
Trash is collected on Wednesday mornings by “Trash Company.”
All garbage must be bagged and placed at the far end of the driveway.
To help deter bears, trash bins are kept closer to the house when not awaiting pickup.
The nearest full grocery store is Ingles in Cashiers (approx. 15 minutes).
Many guests stop at Walmart in Franklin, Sylva, Clayton, Hendersonville, or Asheville on their way up the mountain for larger grocery runs.
